Born in France in 1957, graphic artist and painter Gil Morand has lived in Berlin for nearly 30 years. In addition to watercolors, long one of his most significant forms of creative expression on his travels, he also creates collages and abstract works in acrylic paints.
His focus today is increasingly on his work with watercolors, his adopted home of Berlin being his favorite subject. Gil Morand loves the interplay of water and pigment, the brushstrokes that never fail to surprise, the precise technique and rapid gestures of this genre. In it, he can create his own poetic universe, a world of transparency, light, and color.
