Kanzowstraße 4, 10439 Berlin – Prenzlauer Berg
The two five-storey residential buildings in Kanzowstraße 4 and 4a with a total of 44 units and two backyards were built around 1900 and modernised through selected measures in 2013 and 2014. The harmonious house façade with many architectural details makes the residential building in Kanzowstraße stand out as a now beautifully renovated old building. Roof dormers in a striking form with crossed windows and pointed shapes put an artistically designed crown on the house.
The modernised building has a lift; balconies have been added to the flats. The staircases were modernised and tastefully designed while retaining historical elements. The attic was newly built, including the roof truss and roofing.
